ECLCN
learns about the “Spirit of Giving” We
are very proud to have been a part of four different charity events
this fall. Many thanks go out to the families of our children
who have given generously to the needy during this season!! In
the month of October, we raised over $1800.00 for the St. Jude
Research Hospital with our Trike-A-Thon, as well as learned about making
good decisions about safety while riding our bikes. In
November, we started our canned food and coat drive.
We collected over 100 cans of food which were donated to the Sacramento
Food Bank. We also gathered over 80 articles of gently
used coats and clothing which were donated to the Salvation Army. In
December, the families of ECLCN participated in the Christmas Stocking
Project. We donated over 20 stockings which were decorated and
filled to be delivered to the needy children and teens in the Sacramento
area. What
better way to teach about sharing and gratitude? We are all so
very proud of our children who participated in these programs. Singing
in Harmony The month of December was filled with celebrations!! What better time to learn about various cultures than by celebrating their holidays? Throughout the first of the month, we learned about Hannukkah, Kwanzaa, Eid al Ahad, and Diwali. Next, we leaned about how other countries throughout the world, in Europe, Scandinavia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia, and North, Central, and South America celebrated Christmas. It has been a busy month! By the time the children sang for their parents at our “Holiday Celebration”, they knew why even though we are all different, we could still learn to “Sing in Harmony”. We can’t wait for Chinese New Year!! Older Newsletters Require Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word Newest Newsletter (right click > save as) see above Old Newsletters |
